Bold, smoky, and slow to build, Kofinas Chipotle Infused Olive Oil brings real heat and bold flavor to everyday cooking. Each bottle starts with our cold-pressed Koroneiki extra virgin olive oil from Crete and is infused in-house with dry chipotle chili peppers, basil, thyme, and bay leaf. Pour generously over the dishes you already love and let the smoke do the rest.
What Is Chipotle Infused Olive Oil?
Chipotle Infused Olive Oil is a smoky, spicy olive oil made by steeping dry chipotle chili peppers, basil, thyme, and bay leaf into a Single Origin, Monovarietal Koroneiki extra virgin olive oil from the Messara Valley in Crete. The base oil is cold-pressed below 80°F within hours of harvest, which preserves the 500mg/kg and above polyphenol content and the low 0.2% to 0.3% acidity that gives Kofinas olive oil its quality, taste, and flavor.
Every flavor in our infused olive oil collection is made independently in small batches at our Montgomery Infusion Kitchen in Cincinnati. We never mix two infused oils to create a third, and we only use dry spices in every bottle.
The result is a clean, honest infused oil built on the same single-origin Koroneiki EVOO base that four generations of the Manousakis-Semertzides family have been pressing from their olives in Crete. Bold heat, real spice, and a hot, smoky oil you can cook with every day.
How to Use Chipotle Infused Olive Oil
Chipotle Infused Olive Oil works in almost any recipe where you want a smoky, spicy layer of flavor. It holds up beautifully to heat, so you can cook with it the same way you would use plain extra virgin olive oil.
Try it in these meals and dishes:
- Soups and stews: stir into a pot of chili, tomato soup, or black bean stock for warmth and depth.
- Pizza and pasta: drizzle over the crust before baking, or toss with pasta for an instant spicy kick.
- Stir fry and sautés: delicious with chicken, shrimp, or roasted vegetables.
- Casseroles and rice dishes: stir into baked pasta, enchiladas, or grain bowls.
- Marinades: brush onto ribs, steak, or grilled vegetables before they hit the heat.
- Dipping and finishing: pour into a small dish with sea salt for warm bread, or drizzle over hummus, morning eggs, salads, and roasted potatoes for a quick dip.
A few helpful tips: a little goes the perfect amount of the way, the taste deepens with heat, and the bottle is built to be poured often. Olive oil is the everyday all-purpose oil, and this chili oil belongs on your table.
Best Pairings for Chipotle Infused Olive Oil
The smoky heat of Chipotle Infused Olive Oil works best when paired with something sweet and fruit-forward. Two pairings from our balsamic lineup bring out the best in this bottle.
- Raspberry Aged Dark Balsamic: rich, jammy, and bright. The tart raspberry softens the heat and adds a sweet, syrupy finish to marinades, glazes, and grilled meats.
- Fig Greek Balsamic Vinegar: earthy and honey-like with deep fig sweetness. A natural match for ribs, pork, roasted vegetables, and cheese boards.
Whisk either one with a few tablespoons of Chipotle Infused Olive Oil for a fast salad dressing, a steak marinade, or a glaze for grilled chicken. You can also drizzle Chipotle Infused Olive Oil straight onto a hot slice for a smoky, spicy pizza experience that wakes up the whole pie. Both bottles also make a great gift, especially in our sampler gift sets, and shipping is fast from our Cincinnati kitchen.
